Questions
Straight answers.
What Phenowise is, what it will not do, who can see the record, and how it fits with the care you already have. Every answer here describes the product as it is today.
The basics
- What is Phenowise, in one breath?
- A place to keep an honest record of a chronic condition over time, for yourself or for someone you care for. You write down what changed, when, and why, a few minutes at a time. It gives you back a clear picture you can read and a record you can bring to the next appointment. Informational, never a diagnosis.
- How much time does it take?
- A few minutes, a couple of times a week. Each symptom gets one of three answers, better, same or worse, and a note if you want one. Readings like blood pressure or mood you log whenever you measure them. Once a week there is a short round for sleep, exercise, meals and body measurements, and you can skip it.
- Do I need to know medical terms?
- No. You write in everyday words. When you add a condition, Phenowise searches the medical name for you. Symptoms, notes and journal entries are yours, in your own language. The Clinical View then presents the record in the language a clinician expects, without you having to learn the vocabulary.
- What does "informational, never a diagnosis" mean in practice?
- Phenowise never tells you what you have or what to do. It organizes what you recorded, shows you what changed and what moved together, and suggests questions worth asking. It does not diagnose, predict or treat, and it is not a substitute for a licensed provider. Every clinical decision stays with you and your doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Where does the writing in the weekly summary come from?
- From what you entered, and nothing else. The counts, the trend lines and the "what moved together" view are arithmetic on your entries. A language model turns those entries into the plain-language and clinical-language summaries you read. It writes; it does not decide. If a sentence is wrong, there is a button under it that says so, and the summary is corrected.
Your data, your control
- Who owns the record?
- The person it is about. A caregiver acts for someone by a grant that is dated and can be taken back at any time. The app says it plainly on the People page: each person owns their own record, you act for them by grant, they can take it back anytime, and you can step away anytime.
- Is it connected to my hospital or my doctor's system?
- No. Phenowise is not connected to any hospital or health system, and nothing is pulled in from anywhere. You write the record. The only things that leave it are the ones you print, download or show someone.
- Can I get everything out, or delete everything?
- Yes, from inside the app, on the Agreements page. "Download everything" gives you a full copy of your account and each person you manage, every record with its history. "Request account deletion" removes your account and every person on it. Before anything is erased, each person, or their representative, gets their own notice and a window to download their record.
- Can I correct or remove an entry?
- Yes. Symptoms you remove keep their history, and if you bring one back it returns with every rating it had. Every entry and every change sits in a change log with who made it and when, so the record stays honest and you can always see what happened.
- Do you sell or share the data?
- No. Phenowise is paid for by its subscribers, not by their data. That is the reason it is not free.
Your doctor
- Does it replace my doctor?
- No. It briefs your doctor. Phenowise organizes what happened between visits and hands you both a clearer starting point. Your clinician interprets it and makes every decision.
- What can I actually bring to the appointment?
- Three things. The Clinical View, which shows the record in the language a clinician expects: a patient summary, a timeline by month, active problems with their symptoms and medications, and ChartQ, the questions worth asking, with the provider's answer recorded against each one afterward. The Entry Record, a printable report where you choose the date range and the sections. And a one-sheet emergency summary: conditions, medications, allergies, contacts.
- What is ChartQ?
- A short list of specific questions written from your record before a visit, grouped by symptoms, medications and tests. Questions to ask, never answers or advice. You mark the ones you asked, record what the provider said, and add a correction later if needed.
For caregivers
- Can I track more than one person?
- Yes. Each person has their own record, their own check-ins and their own summary. You see them all from one place and open whichever one needs attention. You pay per person.
- Is there anything in it for me, not just the person I care for?
- Yes. A short weekly check-in of your own that remembers last week, an honest look at how much you are carrying drawn against a full-time job and what part-time help usually covers, and a journal only you can read. None of it is required.
- What if someone else needs to take over?
- You can hand a person's record to another caregiver. They receive a link by email, review the person being handed over, accept the consent, and take custody. The record does not move; the authority over it does.
Money
- What does it cost?
- $1 for the first 14 days of each person you track, then $49 a month per person. The account itself is free. Everything is included; there is one plan. The full details, an example, and the fine print are on the pricing page.
- Do you keep my card?
- No. Stripe does, in its own secure portal, and that is where you update it, download invoices, or cancel. Phenowise never sees or stores card details.
Other products
- What about MyHealthNFT and MyGenomeNFT?
- Separate products, both optional, neither required to use Phenowise. Nothing you enter in Phenowise goes to either one unless you choose it. This site is about Phenowise; those products describe themselves on their own sites.
