Phenowise began with a promise.

Years ago, its founder promised his wife he would find a way to help with a complex chronic condition in their family, and then spent years working out how. There was no AI to think alongside him then. He did it the slow way: by hand, watching what helped and what didn't, carrying the record from one specialist to the next, and learning how much gets lost in the gaps.

What came of it

Not a cure. The tool he needed and couldn't find.

A way to keep an honest record of what is happening, see the shape of it, and stay in control of it. He built it as a caregiver, because he was one. It is now built for the next person who needs it.

Every choice traces back to that experience. It is why the record is written by the person living it, in their own words, instead of assumed on their behalf. It is why Phenowise never reaches into a hospital's records, and is not connected to any health system. It is why a dose change asks for its reason, because a number without the reason behind it is the thing that gets lost. And it is why the record belongs to the person it is about, and to nobody else.

What began as a focused mission, to address a narrow set of health challenges with data and technology, has grown into something far greater. In our early days we believed that targeting specific diseases was the most effective path. But as we listened, learned and reflected, we uncovered a simple truth: real impact requires a broader, more inclusive vision.

Disease does not respect categories, borders or demographics, and neither should our solutions. Guided by that understanding and an enduring principle, we embraced a plain realization: if I truly wish to help my own, I must be willing to help all. That transformed the platform into one that is universal in scope, built to address all conditions and serve all people with fairness and empathy. It was not merely a technical pivot. It was a moral commitment.

Technologically, the work begins with robust, structured health data, the foundation for tools that help people see what is happening to them. But beyond the analytics, this is about something deeper: a health record built not just to solve problems, but to serve the person it belongs to.

How it is made

One product. No data business.

Phenowise is made by Italic Systems, LLC, in West Palm Beach, Florida. It is paid for by its subscribers, one price per person, and by nothing else. There is no advertising, no data brokerage and no institutional product. The people who use it are the customers, and the record is theirs.
